The Right Nutrition Plan For YOU

If you were to Google “diet tips,” do you have any idea how many articles you would find? Too many to count and way too many to digest. No pun intended.

One source might tell you keto is the best diet to follow—while another source says it will ruin your performance. Trying to sift through all of this information can be very confusing.

Some “expert” will tell you fat is evil—while another will tell you exactly why you need to eat MORE fat. The truth is there is no such thing as a one size fits all diet or nutrition plan. Anyone who says otherwise, needs to reevaluate their opinion. If you have ever worked with me, you know I don’t preach any ONE nutrition plan. I get to know my clients and their habits, then I tailor a plan specific to their lifestyle because the only nutrition plan that works is one that you can stick with…Consistency is everything! Though I don’t preach one type of eating over another, I do have a few tips that work for the majority of my clients.

1. Watch Your Portions

Skip the seconds (or thirds), and stick with one plate of food.  Watching your portions helps you control how many calories you’re currently eating. The fewer calories you consume, the better shot you have at losing fat, having more energy, and building muscle…as long as you are consuming adequate amounts of protein.

BUT…

2. Don’t Go Overboard on Cutting Calories

Many people will cut too many calories from their diet…When this happens, they often struggle to reach their goal. Your body is designed to conserve in times of energy deficiency, which often happens when you cut calories too drastically. This often leads to metabolic slowdown and muscle loss. Two things anyone trying to reshape their bodies do not want!

Your calorie deficit needs to be enough to cause a measurable amount of fat loss if you’re going to see significant changes but not so drastic that it unnecessarily slows your metabolism.

3. Find The Right Balance

Do you need carbs?  How much protein do you need?  What about fruits and vegetables?

If you’re going to lose weight, you need to find the right balance that works for your body.  And that should include some items from these groups:

  • Protein
  • Healthy fats
  • Complex carbs
  • Fiber

The right balance of the above items will help stabilize your energy, and get you on the right path to losing fat, gaining muscle.

If you’re looking to get the best results from your program, changing your  is nutrition is going to be key. This is why you should take the time to educate yourself on the right approach that will fit with your goals and lifestyle if you’re looking for the best results for your effort.
